I successfully played matchmaker with my ex boyfriend and my childhood best friend.
My best friend has been looking for a partner for awhile, to no avail. After the most recent guy turned out to be an extremist conspiracy theorist, I had a lightbulb moment.
I had recently got back into contact with my ex boyfriend. It was never serious and I’m happily married now so us being friends isn’t awkward. He has always been a good guy, we broke up due to being incompatible as romantic partners. So, I had the idea to set him up with my girl friend, let’s call her E and him A.
I figured it would be a good match because A is now permanently settled in our hometown which E has no plans of leaving, they are both goofy, open-minded people, and devoted Christians. Right off the bat, A and E ended up FaceTiming all night and really clicked.
After a month of getting to know each other, they made it official last night and seem to be very doting and compatible.
It’s a little too early to know for sure, but I think they have a good shot of making it long term. I’ve already joked to my spouse that they better invite me to the wedding. All in all, I love seeing their cute pictures and happy, gushy updates on Facebook and feel a sense of gratification that I could bring these two lovely souls together.
