I am 9 weeks pp. I had a healthy supply until two weekends ago. I had a bunch of frozen bags stocked up and was feeding and pumping regularly. Usually pumped on average 10+ oz a day and nursed on average for around an hour total each day (obviously sometimes more or less for each one. Most I ever pumped in one day was 20 oz and most i nursed in a day was 2 hours and 40 minutes).
My daughter hit 6 weeks and became a terror. Crying all the time, hard time latching, just sucking when ahe did latch to soothe. By weeks 7 and 8 the crying slightly decreased but was replaced with a ferocious hunger. This past week it seems like she wants to nurse every 60 to 90 minutes and nurse for only 10 - 15 minutes at a time. Any bottle she gets she devours in 2 minutes. She was onky taking 3 - 4 oz a feeding but she demands around 5 oz now and I dont think I can keep up.
Recently when I've been pumping I am only getting .5 - 1.5 ounces from each breast per session. I am used to getting at least 2 to 3 in the afternoon and 4 to 5 in the morning now.
I have upped my eating and water intake, started drinking lactation tea, and have tried heating pads on my breast. I am feeding or pumping every 2 to 4 hours, even overnight. I don't know what else to do to get my supply back up. I want to keep breastfeeding but this is stressing me out, not making enough milk.
Any advice?
