Thoughts on Lane for a girl?
We’re expecting our first, a girl, and like the name Lane. It’s clean and classic. One grandmother was named Lorraine and the other Alena, so it feels like a nice way to cleverly honor both women.
We were feeling good about it until we made the mistake of telling my mother, who quickly responded with “people will call her Elaine or Lainey.” I guess maybe someone might? But it’s nothing a quick “I go by Lane” can’t fix.
No one calls you “Jilly”, mom!
