Ignoring finger injuries and focusing solely on traumatic injuries that’ll send you to the hospital.

Is board climbing generally safer than gym sets? The movement is a lot more constrained and my general impression is it would be incredibly hard to get a traumatic injury from it. Anecdotally, ive seen/heard many people get traumatic injuries like fractured ankles from gym sets, but none from board climbing, but I’m not sure if thats just because gym sets tend to get a lot more foot traffic.

Have any of you ever seen a traumatic injury from something like moonboard/tensionboard?

Edit: Part of my thought is the style of movement feels less likely to uncontrolled falls like something that sends you spinning or landing awkwardly.

Like every time someone posts a video of themself with their shirt off, half the comments are “put a shirt on”. Gyms have their own policies, and will choose to allow shirts off or not, and I don’t really see the issue if they’re following what their gym allows.

Like, you could say its from a hygienic perspective, but that’s much more something you would look to complain at a gym level to have them change their policy.

At the same time, I don’t imagine when you see someone shirtless at the gym, you just go up to them and say “put a shirt on bro”. People just seem a lot more comfortable being rude when they get to hide behind a screen.

Like, it seems so mean when someone’s excited and sharing a video of something they did, and half the comments are “put on a shirt”, or “tip: we aren’t interested”.
