I started both of these sourdough starters around two weeks ago and while the one with the black band had consistently been rising the other one hasn’t, I feed higher ratios because they will smell hungry after like 3 hours and it’s what got the one doubling consistently. The one with the black band uses Flour Type 405 which I got told isn’t the ideal and the one that refuses to rise is Flour Type 550. I thought about throwing the starter away that won’t rise and concentrating on the one that does but I kinda don’t want to but also do.
