Offering: Portuguese and English Seeking: Italian/any

Hi there!

Im from Brazil and I love learning languages. I can speak english almost fluently but of course there is always room for improvement.

Right now i'm focused on learning italian and would love to chat if you're patient enough hahaha I would say I'm a level B1. I can understand pretty much everything I hear, but it's a little harder to form sentences with proper grammar.

Feel free to correct any mistakes and I'll try to do the same.

If you speak another language but want to practice some Portuguese or English, feel free to DM me as well :)

Hi everyone,

Lately I’ve been feeling pretty discouraged.

I worked as an entertainment host at Costa for three contracts, and after receiving a strong evaluation and being accepted for a new position, it seemed like things were moving in the right direction.

Then, unexpectedly, my company informed me I could no longer continue unless I redid my STCW courses in another country due to my dual nationality.

It was disappointing, but I tried finding opportunities with other companies. I could do with a better salary anyways...

What’s been surprising is that now, despite having years of onboard experience and language skills, it feels harder to even get an interview than it was at the beginning when I had zero ship experience.

At this point, I’ve stepped away and started working in my city, though I still think about returning someday.

I’d be interested to hear if others, especially Latin Americans, are facing something similar. I understand there are many reasons behind rejections, but it would help to hear different perspectives.

Thank you for reading.
