Hello! I previously posted asking whether people recommend the Ford Fusion 2.5L or the Ford Fusion Hybrid, and most responses leaned toward the Hybrid.
When I went to test drive one, the dealership had to jump it because it was dead, even though the Carfax shows it has a brand-new battery. I’ve also come across a lot of posts saying these hybrids can die if they sit for several days without being driven.
The one I’m considering is a 2019 with about 100,000 miles on it. I’ve seen some people say their hybrids have gone 200,000+ miles without needing a hybrid battery replacement, while others have had to replace theirs earlier than that.
I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed trying to decide which version to go with, and worrying about potentially having to spend thousands on a hybrid battery soon after buying it. I do plan to get a pre-purchase inspection regardless of which one I choose. Any advice about which to choose and the lifespan of hybrid batteries is appreciated!
