I know everyone is stressed out about the outage and needing to study. VitalSource just sent us this information that might be helpful:
"We're closely monitoring the situation and exploring options with publishing partners to maintain courseware access. Our top priority is ensuring students can continue reaching their content with minimal disruption.
In the meantime, students who have previously set up an account with an email address and password have two ways to access their ebook content right now:
• Web: Log in at bookshelf.vitalsource.com
• Mobile and Desktop: Students who have previously signed in on the VitalSource Bookshelf mobile and desktop apps can continue accessing their ebooks there
Unfortunately, students who have not taken the step to create a user/password account do not currently have access to their materials.
We will continue to provide updates as the situation develops. If you or your students have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to support."
NOTE: We have found that students who haven't previously created a VitalSource account can use the SSO by using this link:
https://cspup.vitalsource.com/
We have also reached out directly to our largest courseware providers for instructions/workarounds. As of now, Pearson and Cengage have both confirmed that students can navigate directly to their sites and log in to their courses and homework.
We'll post updates as we hear from other companies!
