Please Search the Sub Before Posting Repeat Questions

Dear Members,

Kindly avoid low effort posts.
Many common solar-related questions have already been answered multiple times in detail within this subreddit. You can find answers to a lot of your issues by doing a simple search.

Before creating a new post, please use the search feature first.
In many cases, you will find very good, detailed answers in older discussions.

How to search properly:

  • Use the Search bar at the top of the subreddit
  • Search with short keywords such as:
    • “net metering”
    • “5kw system”
    • “hybrid inverter”
    • “battery backup”
    • “Karachi billing”
  • Check both “Top” and “New” results
  • You can also search on Google using:
    • site:reddit.com/r/SolarPakistan "your question"

A lot of common questions have already discussed a lot like the typical,

  • How many panels ?
  • Hybrid vs On-Grid
  • Which inverter/battery brand is better?
  • Is battery backup worth it?
  • Why do I need IP65 if I install it indoors?
  • How long does net metering approval take?
  • Net Metering worth it ?

If you still think your question is unique and hasn't been answered already, please try to include as much details as possible:

  • Monthly electricity units, you can find it in your bills.
  • City / DISCO if it is relevent to Question.
  • Budget
  • Backup requirement or bill reduction, in short what you want to achieve.
  • Existing appliances, no of fans, lights ,AC tonnage etc.
  • New installation or existing system modifications
  • Add detailed Photos or videos to get better response for troubleshooting problems with installed systems.

Posts such as “Guide please” or “Best system?” usually do not provide enough information for user to help properly.

And If you keep asking same questions repeatedly eventually helpful users will get tired of it and won't bother answering even when there is a genuine interesting or specific issue.

Instead, try to ask specific questions

Detailed and well-researched posts in general receive better answers and save everyone’s time

Help build a useful knowledge base for future users.

Thank you.
