
Context: Hong Xiuquan
Hong Xiuquan was a Chinese revolutionary and religious leader who led the Taiping Rebellion against the Qing Dynasty
He established the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, proclaiming himself as Heavenly King
Before that, Hong studied the Four Books and Five Classics necessary for the Imperial examination system
He failed three times the examination and suffered a nervous collapse. He had some visions about Confucio during this collapse.
On the fourth time he failed the examination, and after reading some pamphlets about Christianity, he thought It was God who tried to contact him because he was the younger brother of Jesus Christ.
Inspired by those visions and beliefs, he started a campaign to spread his ideas which later became in an armed rebellion against the Chinese Empire
