I need to vent because this situation has escalated into something I couldn’t make up if I tried.

For context, I have not one, but TWO chaotic households near me. One is directly next door, the other across the street from them. It’s like living next to a crossover episode nobody asked for.

Let’s focus on the main character: “Tony.”

This all really started on my birthday last year. That’s the day I finally had enough of his behavior and mentally checked out of ever trying to be neighborly with him.

Since then, the police have been called on him THREE times.

In November 2025, things really solidified for me. We were simply putting up Christmas decorations and minding our own business when he opened the door and called us dumb motherfuckers.

He later tried to apologize, but I told him to F off. Because by that point, I already knew:

this is a cycle, and it’s going to happen again. Spoiler, it did.

A few months ago, during an ice storm (yes, ICE STORM), his girlfriend was trying to leave the house. Dangerous conditions, but she clearly wanted out. As she’s walking away, he loudly declares:

“I’M A NEEEEWWWW MAN!!!” Which I'll admit made me laugh out loud.

Not even a minute later… he slips on the ice and falls flat on his ass.

Fast forward to yesterday.

10 AM: Already drunk.

Late morning: Standing in the front yard (which he NEVER does), staring me down while smoking.

2 PM: According to another neighbor, acting erratic and arguing with himself. He does this a lot and I call it talking to his imaginary friends.

Evening: His mistress shows up. Yes. His mistress.

His girlfriend comes home, sees this woman, and all hell breaks loose in the front yard. Screaming, chaos, the whole neighborhood watching like it’s live TV. The mistress ends up calling the cops, who escort her away.

Later that night? Tony is inside wailing and apologizing. I can hear him from my back porch.

The next morning? Everyone is suddenly quiet and pretending none of it happened.

Meanwhile, I’m just over here trying to watch deer in my yard and live a normal life.

To make things even better, the household across from them has its own issues (authority fights, constant tension), so there’s just a constant background level of drama on my street.

The rest of the street around me is great. Good people. How I got stuck around these people, makes me question my place in the universe.

At this point, my husband and I don’t even get mad anymore. We just look at each other and go: “NEEEEWWWW MAN” 🤣

Anyway, thanks for reading. I just needed to share because this is the most absurd neighbor situation I’ve ever experienced.

Please tell me I’m not alone in living next to chaos.
