Disconnect between central office and building level?
This is probably me overthinking things again but having gone to the board office today I noticed something that struck me as odd. In my building most teachers/admin are cold to me or neutral (a few are warm).
Then on the rare occasion I go to the board office for something I am treated like the MVP of the district or something. Our CFO treats me like I walk on water and constantly rips on our building principal to me like we are pals. I stay professional and don't comment on that, but it's not just him. When I got my new contract and tenure, the HR director was asking me if I was happy here and wanted to know if I needed anything extra to stay. I had to get documents one time for an admin opening and she was trying to see if there was anything I needed to be happier here. I've only been here 9 years but in a high turnover underserved, low paying district I suppose it makes sense.
On the other hand I don't get the disconnect in my building which feels so toxic, I don't trust anyone not to backstab me there. So it's just weird to feel like the favorite son at the board office with that being the case.
