Opening Context:

Hello everyone, I was just shopping around for some titanium pans as I'm tired of the toxicity of most cookware that's out there today. Normally I use cast iron for my family but after further research I need another set of pans to use for acidic food as cast can leach excess iron into your food when cooking with anything acidic. I decided against ceramic as they can end up being much more toxic than their marketing leads you to believe and the coating can wear out pretty fast. I decided I want to go with titanium but I want pans that are pure titanium or pure surface titanium with an aluminum core to help with hot spots. I'm trying to find a company that does not use titanium alloy nor the titanium coating as I don't want to be cooking off aluminum, vanadium, molybdenum, zirconium, chromium, Niobium, Tantalum, Cobalt, or Tin and the titanium coating has proven to be fairly easily scraped off and ends up right in your food. As I was searching through dozens of companies on google, I came across something rather curious.

Main Content:

Flipping through many different sites I noticed that 7 companies (that I noticed, most likely more) have the exact same pan at various price ranges, the pans have the same exact look, size, surface pattern, handle shape (some have different handle color), they all sell the same things, some of them both sell these hammered looking ones and the clad looking ones, some only sell various versions of the hammered style but they all sell that same hammered pattern Ti pan and also they all sell some type of Ti cutting board and identical Ti utensils.

These companies are get-titancore.com, gettitanpan.com, okuracookware.com, siraatskitchen.com, oroandpearl.com taimatitanium.com, astrasave.com/products/tipanexi I cannot tell whether these companies are all under the same shell/parent company or if they are all just getting their pans from the same manufacturer. The first 6 companies in my list have very similar website layouts and content like sections that show the issues with other cookware, with titancore and titanpan literally having the exact same reviews/reviewers/review photos & videos. The astra site cuts off the handle on all the reviews which makes me think they are just pulling them from one of these other sites. All of these sites deploy the same kind of psychological marketing with "limited time deep discounts" and "high demand, low inventory" to encourage quick impulse buying.

After some Ai investigation, it looks like they all have some third party bad reviews that are on similar topics talking about how the pans do not look, feel and work like they advertise and how they offer some kind of money back guarantee and lifetime warranty but when they try and refund or send the pan back it becomes impossible and they have some crazy terms or stipulations and the customer gets stuck with the pan. Ai also told me that all of these brands market as a premium and healthy alternative to other cookware options but typically ship directly from china. After a bit more research on my part I found the exact same pan on walmart for like $45 lmao. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Titanium-Hammered-Pan-Pro-with-Lid-Titanium-Frying-Pans-For-Cooking-Multifunctional-Ultra-Durable-Scratch-Resistant-Non-Stick-Nutri-Pans-10-23in/18941800395?adsRedirect=true

All of the third party reviews from trust pilot or other review platforms are just terrible! People saying the pans arrive in blank packaging, papers saying the metal is aluminum and stainless steel, everyone saying it's just chinese garbage.

If you read through all of this, thanks! I just wanted to share my findings with you all after this little rabbit hole I went down. Maybe it will help some people if you were looking into these pans and if you decide to buy one at least you can get the same pan for cheap instead of blowing $150 on it. Let me know what you guys think, I found it rather interesting and I'm definitely curious as to what is going on here, it seems like at least a few of these "companies" are just clones made by the same people, possibly just starting another once reviews get too bad. They are all definitely deploying a bit of shady marketing tactics to get you to make a quick impulse buy.

Going to have to continue my search for good non toxic, none cast iron pans. Might have to just settle on carbon or stainless if I can't find one that meets my requirements.
