My stbx was arrested for child related crimes in August. He was sentenced to 35 years in March. His victim was our daughter. My children have a hyphenated last name. They have both expressed to me their wish to change their last name to mine. Which was not changed when I got married. Is this likely to be granted if it’s their wish? And would it be possible to do during the divorce or would it need to be separate? Saving money for a divorce lawyer as he was the breadwinner. So 2 for 1 would be helpful financially. I doubt he will contest the divorce but can’t say about the name. I don’t trust anything I thought I knew about him anymore.
