I am glad to see Bangladeshi movies are doing so well recently. I remember there was a lot of hype with Monpura and I went to Balaka to watch it. Then 3rd Person Singular Number was another one which drew a lot of crowd.
Cut to the last 5 years, where just like India Eid releases are a thing. But I feel this is already starting to be stretched and milked for profit.
Here is my observation:
There are more movies released during Eid but relatively no new movies rest of the year
Most of the movies are starting to look similar after Toofan’s success (Borbad, Tandob, Rakhosh) all have the same rinse and repeat formula, shamelessly copying Animal.
We need more movies like Hawa and Bonolota Express, which are genuinely Bangladeshi movies, no copy paste story and most importantly no unnecessary item songs.
