The City of Enoch, Antediluvian chronicle shenanigans session 5

Running a Through the Ages game where each player is starting as an Antediluvian of a unknown clan, and as the ages go on they will swap to their childer to keep some semblance of balance. While giving their Ante's downtime actions every age.

in this timeline the 3rd gen were actually all 1st Gen cursed by different gods and pantheons. so there isn't a literal Caine figure, the Caine myth will likely be created with the rise of the Abrahamic faiths to explain the origin of vampires from that perspective.

The general rule is they can change supernatural history all they want, but only very minor changes to human history can be made. So the Roman empire still rises and falls, but maybe Vinland is an independent hermit nation by the modern nights.

The Abrahamic faiths are still dominant by the modern nights, but maybe European pagans and heathens are never fully converted and remain as persecuted minorities throughout the timeline.

(The City of Enoch was placed in Doggerland in this timeline, as a Venus flytrap to congregate those cursed by the gods p

Here are the changes so far by session 5:

  1. Abisimillard (Nosferatu Ante) was killed and his progeny destroyed after it was discovered they were planning on embracing much of the very small and depleted City of Enoch (constantly being attacked by the Heavenly hosts (multipantheon) and Lupines to keep the population pinned for a coming deluge)

  2. After a reprieve from the fighting and some clever ways found to draw more people in. Enoch has mostly regained it's lost strength, the antes hold council to talk about embracing peeps, and they vote that each ante could embrace 5 people but no more until they had all escaped from the city of Enoch one way or another.

  3. Seeing this as an opportunity to get rid of some rather hated personalities amongst their number, three members of the coterie go after Lau Som Beau (Lasombra) (2 v 1 gang up) while a lone lunatic went after Veddartha (Ventrue), both groups having succeeded and committed diablerie on their victims. with Veddartha partially possessing the one who bumrushed him.

(it's important to note that all antediluvians are neonates at this point with disciplines locked to 5 max, 10bp per turn and a pool of 100) (in the next age the Antes unlock elder disciplines.)

(it should also be noted that I'm using a homebrew where all diablerie victims stay johnny silver and style in your souls, and may use any of your mental disciplines against you once per session so while they are dead, they're not gone

These three changes are already gonna have a massive effect on the setting. Some I foresee others I definitely do not yet.

What I Foresee happening:

  1. Ventrue no longer existing as a clan means a whole lot of changes, with the Baali wars either ending differently or taking longer to reach the same result depending on which side the player choose. (probably gonna choose to side against the Baali and eventually the Baali+Troile)

  2. Nosferatu are not there to form an underclass of information gatherers, things that were uncovered in the base timeline might not get discovered unless another bloodline mutates to take that niche.

  3. Lau is not there to control the Vatican, making an early inquisition far more likely to occur. The colonization of the Americas is also heavily effected, with clan Lasombra having driven much of the efforts to convert or kill much of the population of Native Americans. Obtenebration isn't lost necessarily, but there's not a clan to specialize in it, unless the player that diablerized him decides to form a bloodline salubri style to use that discipline.

  4. the Anarch revolt probably still happens but the factions that emerge from it either have different make ups, or different factions form instead maybe leading to a more VTR situation which the bagillion different sects spread across the world.

There are other clans present in this timeline not in the base one.

NPC clans:

  1. The Carnereids (aquatic clan which stick near salt water and ports) has a discipline that controls salt water. they must sleep within saltwater else they will go mad.

  2. The Harbingers of Jörmungandr (sister clan to the Setites, in the first age the two antes are very close, though grow to hate one another by the next age) their discipline is similar to serpentis, but replace snakes with dragons of various myths. each member has two serpent tattoos representing the order of the Weaver and the constant change of the Wyld, they must do whatever these spirit tattoos command of them.

PC clans:

  1. Clan Makan, a clan which finds "pure" water of any amount anathema, and so steer clear of it as best they can. Clan discipline revolves around manipulating water by polluting it with their vitae to control it.

  2. Clan Ibila a clan which is driven to fear frenzy when surprised by flashing lights as well as from very bright lights. Their discipline allows them to craft servants out of clay, and hone them for specific tasks.

  3. Clan Deimatheon, a clan of hotheads with red hair and silver eyes these vamps stand out wherever they go. their clan discipline is one of fear manipulation.

  4. Clan Ashkalgari, a clan of little Napoleons where each has a compulsion to always be the one in charge of whatever group they're a part of, to a bestial level. Their clan discipline is one that forms a mental link between members of a pack and allows them to work together more effectively. This clan also all have wings as an addition to their curse, and have the flight discipline.

So all together we have:

  1. Malkavians

  2. Salubri (might become Tremere unless prevented by players)

  3. Toreador

  4. Capadocians (Might become Giovanni unless prevented by players

  5. Banu Haqim

  6. The Carnereids

  7. Gangrel

  8. Trujah (for now will become Brujah later)

  9. Ravnos

  10. Tzimisce

  11. Harbingers of Jörmungandr

  12. Temple of Set

  13. Ashkalgari

  14. Deimatheon

  15. Ibila

  16. Makan

Feel free to share what you reckon will happen with this point of divergence from the broader WoD setting. there's a whole lot though, and I definitely am not aware of every single consequence for this but I'll be spending a good portion of this chronicle researching things before moving between each age.

Luckily I suffer from worldbuilder's disease so this is my jam!
