We noticed some water stains on our ceiling/wall in our study after some heavy storms roll through 2 weeks ago. The roofer has since "fixed" the issue (we can't know for sure until the next set of storms). What should I do about the ceiling / wall? The area and the attic above the area isn't really accessible to us, so I don't know how wet it got (there is limited attic access, but we are not comfortable doing it given the height). There is insulation up there.
Should I just fix it cosmetically (the spots are basically invisible now after drying up, only very faint stains)? Or should I try to find someone to rip out the damaged area? Who should I call?
For context, we are in Austin, TX. This is the first floor of a 2 story house, "nothing" above the study.
