Hey all. First time posting here. But I recently purchased CoreTec ProEnhanced flooring not thinking twice about what lay under my current flooring.

Background: ranch style house is built in 1972.

Raised foundation and 1 room is on slab. Joist>plank>particle>Flooring is what I’ve seen our subfloor consists of.

The house has a combination of Hardwood, Vinyl, Tile and Carpet.

Was initially thinking of doing the install ourselves because we had gotten the floors for such a great deal, but had second thoughts on DIY and called a company out for an estimate. Almost $30k for demo, prep, and install. Apparently all particle needs to be taken up and replaced with plywood? If the particle board has no moisture, is it a problem? If the particle is chipped can we simply replace that section? Can particle be stabilized with screws on at the joists?

Looked further online and said LVP should not be placed over particle. Others saying it’s ok as long as it’s prepped correctly.

Want to make sure that we’re not getting taken advantage of. Obviously will get multiple quotes, but looking for advice of the pros in this groups.

Thank you in advance for the advice, direction and overall guidance.
