Well i hope you run into this post if you had the same issue as me

So i noticed a yellow border after using the snipping tool, seemed random at first then i noticed it only appears after gpu crash / black screen

Up until today I have seen no one talk about preventing issue or fixing it on the spot

I used to just log out / reset pc, but today i tried something else

Solution:

Try this command in admin cmd taskkill /f /im dwm.exe

It will make your screen black for a sec, but it will remove yellow border WITHOUT restarting pc

Sadly it will reappear once you screenshot, BUT you wont need to close everything just to remove the annoying border

if it happends a lot pin message in Windows + V clipboard so you have quick access to it

Hope it helps (also try Ctrl Shift Win B or killing snipping tool / Desktop Window Manager)
