Hadn’t hung an axe before, but I fucked up the factory handle on the Husky in the background, which I was borrowing from my FIL. So I ordered a new one from Beaver Tooth Handle Co.
Around the same time he and my MIL gave me the axe in the foreground which belonged to her father. This handle from Beaver Tooth kinda matched the one that was on it, so I bought a 30” (old one was 32”). This axe is a Plumb. The bit seems to have some uneven wear from use or sharpening. I may correct that later.
Anyway, these were really satisfying to do. Really quick projects with awesome results that you can use. Better than building a coffee table that you just put a cup on. Now I’m going to make a hatchet handle from some spare oak in my shop. I’ll put it in an old hatchet head that was hanging around the garage. I’ll give that to my son so I can teach him how to use it and we can prep fire wood for the grill together.
