Spoilers if you haven't seen the game or played it but i was playing a chapter where you choose your route when you protest. So basically my player character is the leader of an Android movement that's basically fighting for the rights of androids to have freedom. I was given a choice when i had to send a message to humans and it's either violent or pacifist.
Safe to say i chose pacifism because i think responding violence with violence will just turn people away from your cause. It did get me thinking about what's going on in the world today especially with the protests about Iran, ICE and everything else.
What I've been noticing is protesters that tend to be violent or act violent or threaten violence are the ones that hurt their cause bigger than their critics or opponents. It's no surprise there that the left especially those being extreme with antifa that beat up journalists are the ones hurting their cause bigger than the right. This logic also follows with the extreme right because let's be real, the extremes of the spectrum hurt the cause more than the opponents.
I don't understand the logic behind people protesting today is by burning cars, breaking property, antagonizing law enforcement so they have a reason to shoot at you. The only worse enemy to your cause or protest is really dependant on yourself and your self control, at least that's my opinion.
