I launched the season premiere for Palace of Mirrors last week. For the (many) of you who haven’t listened, Palace of Mirrors is a moody science-fiction story set in the remnants of a long fallen empire. It’s a story of how the past and the future are twisted and tied up with one another, and how hard it is to let go of the past.

Last season focused on the main character, Darien, getting kidnapped by space pirates and his growing relationship with the captain of the ship, a man going by the name Bluebeard.

This season sees Darien journeying across his moon to the last remaining city, which is in the midst of civil unrest under a man who styles himself as a king. Even as he travels, though, a deranged man named Dragon-Eye hunts him across the moon seeking the talking sword (yes, I have talking swords—there’s a pulp edge to my sci-fi) named Night.

If any of that sounds interesting I hope you’ll check the podcast out, you can find it at PalaceofMirrorspodcast.com or just search for Palace of Mirrors in your player of choice.

The second season of my science-fiction audio drama, Palace of Mirrors, will premiere this week. Palace of Mirrors is an audiobook style production with a single narrator (that would be me) about a young man on a journey across a ruined world that was once part of an unnamed Empire that fell 500 years ago.

Palace of Mirrors is a podcast with many influences. At times it’s a pulp sci-fi story about talking swords, space pirates and other larger than life concepts. At other times it’s a rumination on the ways the past never leaves us and how history comes to define the present.

Hopefully in there somewhere it comes together. If it strikes something in you I hope you’ll check out the podcast: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/2393496.rss You can also find it at Palaceofmirrorspodcast.com
