Hey y'all, I’m kind of spiraling and need some quick advice.
I literally just graduated my LVN program and my professor just offered me a spot to bridge into the RN program. The catch? Orientation is tomorrow and classes start this Monday. Everything is happening so fast lol.
The situation:
- I have to pass a Pharm exit exam immediately to bypass the class prereq.
- I have to pass the NCLEX-PN and have my license in hand by the end of summer (July/August).
- Transition courses are June–July, then I’d jump straight into 2nd year RN clinicals (Mental Health) in late July.
My stats:
- 92% HESI predicted pass rate for the NCLEX.
- 3.3 cumulative GPA (but a 4.0 in my sciences).
- Professors are encouraging me to do it and say I'm a strong student, but I'm still terrified.
I’m torn because I don’t want to waste a year, but the short notice is stressing me out. What if I can’t get an NCLEX date fast enough? What if the Pharm exit is impossible? I know getting the RN is the move, but I’m scared of the "what-ifs" and the possibility of having to withdraw
My questions:
- Has anyone done a bridge like this on super short notice? How was the workload?
- How should I prioritize studying for a Pharm exit exam with only a few days?
- With a 92% HESI, am I overthinking the NCLEX risk?
- If you were me, would you take the leap or just wait for a traditional bridge later?
Thanks in advance—I have to decide basically by tomorrow morning!
