Today’s Non-94 Moment: Alexei Kovalev’s 1st Career Hat Trick
Alexei Kovalev earns his 1st career hat trick at MSG in 6-5 come-from-behind victory against the Boston Bruins on 12/27/1992.

One of the most iconic moments in the Rangers-Devils rivalry, Sean Avery “screens” Martin Brodeur and eventually gets the goal. The 2008 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals was a very fun time.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Going back to the 70s this morning.
During the 1971/72 season, Vic Hadfield becomes the first Ranger to score 50 goals in a season. That year, he was part of the famous GAG line with Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert.
Happy Mother’s Day!
In the 2012 Eastern Conference Semifinals, Marian Gaborik scores in triple overtime to snap a scoreless skid and give the Rangers a 2-1 series lead against the Washington Capitals.
Happy Friday! A good way to start the weekend by remembering this iconic shootout goal.
On 11/26/2005, the Rangers and Washington Capitals went 15 rounds in the shootout. In the final round, Marek Malik goes between the legs to beat Olaf Kolzig for the winner. This shootout goal is considered one of the best in league history.
Fun Fact: for all you Knicks fans on this subreddit, on this very same day, MSG hosted a double header. Earlier, the Knicks played the Sixers and too had a memorable OT win, with Nate Robinson making his iconic buzzer-beater over Allen Iverson. You can see it here.
On 12/08/2014, Rangers defensemen Kevin Klein gets his ear cut during the first period of play against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He would leave the game temporarily, return later on, and score the OT winner.
In honor of the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the draft lottery last night, I think it’s only fair to include them in today’s non-94 moment.
On January 18, 2001, Mike Richter becomes the winningest goalie in franchise history, thanks to a 2-1 OT win at MSG against these very same Leafs. Opposite Richter was CuJo himself, Curtis Joseph.
First, I want to thank everyone for their continued interest in this series. I enjoy seeing everyone talk about these moments, where they were when the moment happened, and the personal connections to each moment.
I also want to thank everyone for their suggestions! I would like to keep this going until around the start of the season. I have a list on my phone of different moments to share each day. Any suggestions you have are appreciated and encouraged! For reference, I am not going in any chronological order. I will be jumping around time periods.
For today’s non-94 moment, it’s the 2001 home opener against the Buffalo Sabres, the first regular season home game at MSG since 9/11. The Rangers rally and Brian Leetch scores the OT winner.
The link I found is the full game, the Leetch goal is around the 58:40 mark of video.
In honor of Martin St. Louis coaching the Habs to the next round in crazy playoff series, today’s memory is of St. Louis scoring his iconic OT goal against the very same Habs.
I am starting a daily series where I post an exciting moment in New York Rangers history not related to 1994 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Remember other exciting times in the history of this organization.
To start it off: 1997 Eastern Conference Semifinals, Rangers vs. Devils, Game 5. Adam Graves OT winner to send them to the Conference Finals.

Am I the only one who thinks that this will be a precursor to some changes in Independent baseball?

Reading the article and surprised that they would want to put Trenton in SAL and not back in the Eastern League.
