Another Comrade question

In the 2 Part MASH episode “Comrades In Arms” our favorite Captain Hawkeye gets into a major hand to hand encounter with our favorite head nurse Margaret Houlihan while on a detour from another medical unit. The affair is short lived though as the two are way too different to be in a lasting relationship. But what if they could’ve made it work? My question for the group is what would our friendly neighborhood Colonel Potter have done if his Chief Surgeon continued to play Doctor with his head nurse? Would he continue to turn a blind eye? Tell them not to fraternize or send one to another MASH unit? Thank you for reading.

Good cop or hotshot?

This may seem like a weird question but hear me out. In “RoboCop” one of his prime directives (his core programming) is to serve the public trust. My interpretation of that is to do things that would not endanger the public or cause them to lose trust in police. However on multiple occasions we’ve seen Robo twirl a loaded gun like his kids hero TJ LAZER in public which (while being cool as fuck) is at best reckless and at worst dangerous. It was okay when he did it as Murphy but my question for the group is even before Ann Lewis triggered his memory how did Robo override his prime directive and show off at the range? As usual let me get this out of the way “Kid it’s not that kind of movie”. Thank you for reading.

Slaughter Fodder

Was there ever a cartoon/comic book explanation for Sgt. Slaughter being so strong? I get he was based on a real life wrestler, but the shit he was doing (like kicking Nemesis Enforcer’s ass and beating up B.A.T’s hand to hand was superhuman. Did I miss an episode? Was he the Joes version of Serpentor or something? Thank you for reading.

A Cap Question (That’s probably been asked a million times, forgiveness please)

In the various Captain America adaptations one constant has been his near indestructible shield. He utilizes it in a variety of ways by my question today is twofold 1) Why does his shield sometimes bounce and sometimes get stuck in walls and 2) Is his shield razor sharp or not, because sometimes he can throw it at people no problem but other times it can cut through metal. I know Spider-Man joked about it’s physics but it always puzzled me. If it’s “not that kind of movie kid” cool, but I’m asking. Thank you for reading.

I’m 99.99% convinced that this is when Jones decided to have Morton killed. I thought it was earlier when Morton interrupted him after the ED-209 fiasco but nope, just look at that smug fucking face. RIP Mr. Ferrer, you did a fantastic job.

In MASH S7/EP1 “Commander Pierce”, Hawkeye is given temporary command of the 4077 in Col. Potter’s absence. Hawkeye immediately tries to refuse command and even tries to get BJ to take charge. Potter refuses Hawk takes command and the episode moves forward. My question for the group today is, how do you think it would’ve played out if Potter did decide to let Beej be in charge (besides changing the title of the episode)? Could BJ step up? Also if Hawkeye left the 4077 to treat a wounded soldier would BJ chew him out? Would Hawkeye have even left in the first place? Would Porter have had to take the key to liquor cabinet? I’m not trying to write my own script I’m just making conversation. Thank you for reading.

In MASH S8 EP17 “Heal Thyself” we’re introduced to Major Charles Emerson Winchester The 3rd’s (Gentlemen…) temporary replacement, the gregarious Steve Newsome. Newsome seems like an ideal fit even prompting Hawk and BJ to say they’ve found a third, but a volley of casualties causes Newsome to have a breakdown (possibly foreshadowing Hawkeye’s fate in the series finale). Now I know some people don’t like crossing characters from different seasons/eras, but my question for the group is had Frank Burns been around for Newsome’s breakdown, what would’ve been his reaction? Now admittedly we’ve seen Burns chastise soldiers with PTSD before, however they were combat troops and enlisted. How do you think Burns would’ve treated a fellow officer/MD? Thank you for reading.

No jokes or questions today, I just like how this picture perfectly encapsulates Hawkeye; the best surgeon and worst officer in Korea.
