Our cake decorator found mice poop in her cake icing today. She showed me then immediately tossed everything.
I later found a literal pile of mice droppings underneath our food containers and lids. I had to move everything, throw everything away, scrub the floor with bleach, then take all that nasty poop trash out. It smelled disgusting and I feel sick now.
I reported to my boss, who then reported to higher ups who are calling in pest control.
But none of my coworkers seemed concerned. One actually told me she thinks the mice aren't causing anyone harm and that we should leave them in the bakery. I was appalled.
How can I ensure my boss handles this promptly? And safely?
Our customers are mostly elderly, and I'm worried someone will get seriously ill.
Could I get sick? I did lean down and smell some of the nasty old poop. It was literally stuck to the floor and dried. I had to scrub hard.
EDIT: I do have photos of the poop as evidence. In case the store tries to cover it up.
