I'm curious how the worst landlords in the country are all in the same city. There are sooo many posts about horrible landlords on Reddit and Facebook. What's with the trend of not returning deposits? Why do people do it here? Thankfully I had one landlord in Bangalore and he wasn't a local, so he returned every rupee of my deposit. But that is not most people's experience.

Interestingly, even other rental companies like Colive, Stanza etc. are bloodsucking scammers.

If you are a landlord or you're a Bangalore local, I'd really like to know why people here don't like to return deposits.
