Does anyone know the approximate time it takes for the San Fransisco consulate to approve you to submit documents/passport in person since the date of submission of the online form (specifically for F Visa)?

Wondering if I can drop off my passport at SF consulate before I see the "Passport Submission Required". I submitted my online application yesterday. Anyone have any idea how long I might have to wait before seeing "Passport Submission Required"?
