I am a current fed employee and have decided to try to go back to the defense contractor world because $$$. I am a 2210 ( IT specialist) currently doing cyber work at a senior level. I have applied to a P6 position and even had a buddy who is a p6 as well give my resume to a hiring manager and still not a word. I have my level 3 cert, TS/SCI and know I am a good fit. Is the interview/hiring timeline slower than I realized or is there a chance they aren’t too eager to hire government people (I have heard that about other companies, not RTX). Thanks ahead of time!

*Since so many seem to be determined to not answer my actual question and to just question me, maybe this will help you before you proceed to tell me that its leadership and i should start at an lower level, I understand the requirements for the position, thats why I applied. I feel like most do not understand how government employment works, levels, titles or pay grades. I am not some IT guy that comes and works on your computer when outlook doesn’t work, I have 2 masters degrees, CISSP, PMP, GSLC and many other accomplishments. My current role is a division director overseeing 32 people in 5 different offices in 3 different geographical areas. I am more than qualified to be in that position.
