▲ 2 r/Roses

Hi I've been trying for almost three months now to grow a rose cutting. Originally I tried growing it in a vase, but after months of it not working I've decided to try a different way. The only issue is that my rose started developing leaves at the bottom and I don't know how to plant it in the soil without damaging my leaves. What can I do?

I don't know what type of a cutting it is, all I know is that it was cut in February. Also I don't know what rose plant it is, only that it's pink and has a really nice scent.

I've attached some photos for refrence

Also, I've been wondering why leaves only grew where the rose was in the water? Like only the areas that were wet have been growing
