Hi guys, sorry this isn't a story but feel free to share experiences, I'm a journalist student doing a project on superstitions and one of my articles is on why people believe in the supernatural in the current day despite scientists/psychologists attempting to debunk it or completelt dismissing it.

So, why do you guys think people still carry those beliefs? Input will be highly appreciated

I should specify that I come from an Indonesian family who are very spiritual and have traditional beliefs in the afterlife, specifically dealing with people's passings so they pass-on without difficulty; I grew up in the UK away from my culture, which inturn made me become very skeptical about the topic - skeptical, but not dismissing its existence so please don't misunderstand.

Edit: Rephrasing my words: "Science debunking their existence" as I didn't mean to offend anyone.
