▲ 4 r/keto

I am on keto for 4 and a half weeks now and I want to thank you all for the helpful information here. Doing keto for therapeutic reasons, I am very strictly limiting myself to 20g netto carbs per day. My goal is to reduce inflammation and constant sickness, which apparently stems from a long covid condition. It is definitly working, I feel more energetic and I measured 1,4 mmol the other day.

Now the problem is my body is not responding well to this new energy supplier. I've bee having trouble staying asleep for the last couple of years, but since I really started feeling the keto, it has gotten way worse. I fall asleep at 9pm and I'm immediatley back awake and my heart is beating hard (not fast). Also I notice that I am feeling electric all day long and the colors are way more saturated.

I've read online that it could help "backloading" carbs (eating 20-30g additional carbs in the evening to calmnthe body down). Apparently this could bring me out of this fight or flight mode.

Do you think this could help or will it destroy all the effort and the therapeutic effect for my immune system? Maybe the bad sleep outweighs all the benefits I am currently getting anyway. Or do I just have to wait for my body to adapt. I dont think I can endure this bad sleep much longer.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Edit: I am not in a calory deficit (eating 2500kcal a day) and I drink my ketoade (natrium, potassium, Magnesium) every day. I also tried magnesium bisglycinat already. It doesnt really work for me.
