Most hot plate discussions just end up being “any double burner is fine” but I’m not really convinced they all perform the same once you actually use them daily.
I need a double burner mainly for extra cooking space since my main stove gets crowded when I’m cooking multiple dishes. Kitchen is small so it also needs to be fairly compact and stable on the counter.
I’m seeing coil types and cast iron top types, plus different wattage ranges from around 1500W up to 2000W. Some say coil heats faster but uneven, others say cast iron is more consistent but slower to adjust temperature.
Hard to tell which one actually makes a difference in normal cooking and which specs are just marketing talk.
What type ends up being the most reliable for everyday use without uneven heating or feeling too weak when both burners are on?
