Gums White & Painful after Dental Implant

Gums White & Painful after Dental Implant

I am a 26 (F) who just got a dental implant 4 days ago. After about 48 hours, I developed this whiteness on my gums between my cheek and jaw (as pictured).

There is no pus, no odd smell and no bleeding from the area. However the pain is so SEVERE! Anytime I make any sort of movement at all with the specific area of the mouth, I am in excruciating pain. It got so bad that I had to go to urgent care the other night to get a shot of toradol (high strength NSAID) and prescribed Tramadol (opioid for moderate / severe pain) to help me because of how much pain i’m in.

I called my oral surgeon yesterday (Friday) to explain what is going on and he is going to take a look at it first thing Monday morning since the office is closed on the weekends.

What could this possibly be ? I’m obviously hoping it’s not an infection because that is very expensive to treat and I already paid $1,200 out off pocket to get this implant in the first place. Does anyone know what this could possibly be and how long the pain is going to last? I’m day 4 post op and can’t take this pain much longer and the Tramadol isn’t fully helping.
