Looking for your experience in having an autistic child. If your child is autistic, were they the first born in your family or later born? If you have multiple kids with autism, was the first more affected or did it increase in severity with each child? I'm interested to see if there's a pattern.
Our first born is a fairly easy going level 1, our second born is neurotypical. We're hoping to have a third child but are a little nervous of having a child with more profound autism than level 1. Can't find much scientific research on it so looking for real world experience. The only studies seem to suggest the first born is more affected but that doesn't account for people stopping at one child or parents getting older.
