I’ve recently started branching out and listening to a lot of songs people have recommended me. I’ve mainly been a listener to female musicians with tame impala being the exception. I listened to frank ocean for the first time without just hearing clips of this audio on TikTok. My friends favorite song is Novacane but idk why listening to songs where men is singing about popping viagra, getting strippers, and that kind js kinda feels weird and cringe?? And maybe it’s just me but his first song in the album Nike js doesn’t hit for me, it might be the autotuned voice but it feels like the lyrics are flat and doesn’t connect well.
Had a friend tell me To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick was the best album ever and the first song started off pretty nice I liked the instrumental and the beat. But again when it gets to talking about how he used to love her and now he just wants to fuck her and the snatch your secretary bitch line js feels off putting.
Idk if this is a me issue but it feels like so many popular albums or artists sings about this and I’m never ultra sensitive but I just think these kind of things are kind of cringe and meaningless.
Anyways if anyone has any recommendations for artists please leave some.
