These things that you screw to a wall, in order to hold your mops and stuff, they're about 1" wide, with flanges, and thus are compatible with MOLLE.

For a while now, I've wanted a better way to attach my hiking poles to my bag, and this is it.

I can jump and shake and hike comfortable without them having any risk of falling off, but I can easily grab them, or stow them.

You could also do this with a shovel or axe or something.

I am unreasonable happy with this discovery.
