Laptop advice for my mom

  • Total budget : willing to go to max 1 lakh rs
  • No refabs, new only
  • **Performance: (**Though I am not fully aware of the specifics, my mom works on building applications which are both web based and run locally as apps. She usually runs builds. Her current laptop takes too long to build and hence she wants to upgrade to better specs
  • She works from home so thinness and weight are not very important (would obviously prefer light weight laptop but not a priority)
  • Slightly big screen so she can see properly
  • Display should be decent-good as she watches her shows on only OTT platforms. (NO GAMING or EDITING)
  • Should be reliable good build and should be able to last for the next 5-7 years (She has very good Maintenance

(We looked in Macbooks but the screen sizes are either too small or they have overwhelming specs and are above our budget)

Thanks in advance!

Suggest a laptop for my professional use

  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: Rs 1 lakh (INR)
  • Are you open to refurbs/used? No new only
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
  • Performance (My mom works on building application which are both web based and run locally as apps because of this she is looking for good RAM and processor, doesnot need GPu integrated graphics work) no gaming only programming and running heavy software and builds.
  • How important is weight and thinness to you? Not important
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
  • Slightly big screen its is for my mother
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
  • No gaming and editing only heavy builds of apps and programming software
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
  • NA no gaming
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
  • Should be reliable good build, rest doesnt matter much
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
  • She works from home so the weight is not really an issue, (was looking into macs but the size of the screen is small), looking for a good build pc with good ram and cpu specs so her heavy builds can run smoothly, I am not fully aware but she said her work involves building web apps + app servers to be run on the PC. Her programming compilation and builds are currently taking very long on her current PC (which is now almost 6-7 years old) hence she is looking for an upgrade.
