Eyes hurt when wearing contacts
I am only 18, I started wearing biotrue dailies when I was 13. I’ve been wearing dailies every day since then. But about 5 months ago I took a nap in my contacts and woke up to some uncomfortable pain. It felt like there was pressure on my eyes. I took out my contacts and let them rest for the remainder of the day. But my eyes haven’t been the same since. I’ve gone to many doctors and optometrists who all have prescribed me drops, new contact brands, etc. I’ve taken 2 breaks on separate occasions from contacts that were both a little over a month.
I still feel that uncomfortable pain whenever I wear contacts even if it’s just for a few hours and I hate wearing glasses because they are so heavy. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I’m tired of seeing doctors that don’t know what’s going on.
I’ve tried steroid drops, I’ve tried warm compresses, and I’ve been using lubricants drops almost everyday. The doctors say my eyes look healthy, but there is some inflammation. The last time they checked they said it had gone down significantly and I should be good to try contacts again. I’m starting to feel hopeless. I’m grateful my eyes still work, but I don’t feel confident wearing my glasses.
