Our scanner doesn't take tabs and swipes anymore at the very top and the bottom of the device. Everything unter the virtual keyboard row with the f won't register (oddly enough sometimes the devices still vibrates if you hold it tightly and press around where the back button on the keyboard is, but it has no effect otherwise) and you can also not pull down the menu from the top. The Android buttons at the bottom also don't work at all.

I assume it has to do with the seemingly disintegrating digitizer under the glass. The unit has no warranty anymore (we bought it used), so I'm happy to open it and try a repair or replacement. Parts are extremely difficult to come by, an initial search suggests. Also, the device does not seem to be very popular in Germany.

I guess this cannot be fixed by "mending" the rubbed off parts / lines of the digitizer with solder or conductive paint?

What would you suggest doing?

(I'm about to send Honeywell an email and ask if they sell parts.)

Am unteren Rand des Displays nimmt das Gerät keinen Druck oder Wischen mehr an. (Auf der Tastatur alles unter der Reihe mit f geht nicht mehr.) Auch kann man das Android-Menü von oben nicht herunterziehen. Ich vermute, es hat mit den sich auflösenden Kontakten des Digitizers zu tun?

Das Ersatzteil ist schwer zu bekommen und ich sehe sehr unterschiedliche Preise online und bin mir auch nicht immer sicher, ob es sich um ein passendes Teil handelt oder eine Nachahmung, die dann nicht korrekt funktioniert.

Garantie hat das gebraucht gekaufte Gerät nicht mehr, also mache ich es gerne auf und versuche mich an einer Reparatur oder Austausch.

Kann man diese Leitungen reparieren? Lötzinn ist vermutlich zu grob. Wie sieht es mit Leitlack aus?

Werde mich mal per E-Mail an Honeywell wenden und fragen, ob die Ersatzteile liefern.
