How bad is this?

I’m renting and this leak (right under the shower/bath) started about a year ago but the landlord won’t pay to fix it. Note the mould and bulging wood 😵‍💫

Am I overreacting by thinking this is really bad?

Update:

Just wanted to say holy fk, I cannot believe how many responses this has hahaha. I’m in Australia so just woke up - I’ve read all your comments and appreciate them so much.

In case you missed my earlier comments, I worked out I first reported it 11 months ago - I have a lot of written documentation showing I’ve reported it multiple times. The first few emails say it’s not too big of a deal for me because it seems to be coming from the shower drain (aka not increasing my water bill), but that I’m concerned for the landlord because this will become a bigger issue if not fixed. He has been to the property so he has seen it himself and he said it’s not that big of a deal. I have emails from the property managers saying he’s refusing a plumber.

I was gaslighting myself by thinking I’m overreacting because he seems so nonchalant about his own property (I always feel like a pest because there’s so many problems with this house so I’m always asking for maintenance that he rarely approves). Your responses have been VERY validating (and scary knowing it is a possibility that the floor will cave in). There is a rental crisis where I live so it’s really hard to find another rental, but I’m going to start trying. And yes, I’ll absolutely be escalating it to the RTA (residential tenancy authority in Australia) - if for no other reason, at least to make sure he can’t rent it out to anyone else until it’s fixed.

Also really funny that I keep seeing people say this is rage bait when this is unfortunately my life hahahaha. Extra validating though that people think it’s so ridiculous I must be rage baiting lol.

Thank you all ❤️ Will post another update in a few weeks when things have progressed with the RTA
