I feel like people are completely underestimating what just happened in Maine. Planter’s demolition of Mills appears to be the clearest sign that a left (frankly, dem. Socialist) agenda is the winning formula - regardless of where you stand on some issues. We need to win and if this is how to do it, I’m there for it.
You can argue Mamdani only did it in NYC because it’s NYC but Platner, with zero experience and a lot of baggage, just killed the governor in a purple state who was backed by Dem leadership.
To anyone who doesn’t have donors (meaning voters, not centrist politicians), I’m truly failing to comprehend why there isn’t outcry from all spectrums. This is how we will win, whether you like all the policies or not, and if we elect another Kamala or Newsom we very well could lose a third time to a full blown facist - that’s how incompetent we are. Also, the policies of Planter, Mamdani, Bernie, Van Hollen aren’t radical really - you might have disagreements on implementation but they clearly want the best for the average person
(yes, I know trumps wildly unpopular and newsom could definitely win regardless but you get my point)
