I love camping in the Adirondack’s and I’ve been around during black fly season in the past. I’ve had miserable experiences and I’ve had great experiences. However, I’m planning a chill camping trip for someone’s birthday at the end of may and I dont think I’m willing to take the risk for this specific trip.

Does anyone have any other spots in the northeast/new york they go to outside of the Adirondack’s during this season to avoid the bugs? Mine is often the Whites, but my camping partner is coming from Syracuse so that’s quite far.

I appreciate any suggestions. I apologize for being part of the black fly post problem.
