On a trip when we used our AC and it smelled literally like piss. When I opened the filter, it literally had a lot of fur, found small rat droppings and was covered in piss. I cleaned and replaced it then the next day it smelled like dead rat. Off to have it thoroughly cleaned, but anyone got any tips how to avoid stuff like this in the future?

P.S, we don't eat inside the truck but got so unlucky as the hotel we stayed in only had streer parking right beside a ran-down restaurant with lots of trucks in front.
