I started my own recruiting agency two months ago, focusing on the maritime and logistics sector. I’ve been hitting the phones hard with cold calls and actually managed to get 8 different clients to give me a mandate to search for them.
The issue is what happens next. As soon as I send over my quotations and agreements, they completely ghost me. All 8 of them have dropped off at this exact stage.
For context, I only charge 10% of the annual gross salary.
Am I missing something in my process? Could something else in the paperwork be scaring them off, or are they just giving me "soft yeses" on the phone? I'd love to hear how you handle the transition from verbal agreement to signed contract without losing the client.
