I have been accepted to both rice and UT for electrical engineering. I have no clue what to pick.
Rice is only 15k per year
Texas would be 65k
I can afford both in full however, the amount I do not spend will become mine (aka I will graduate Rice with 250k in my pocket)
Texas is significantly better for electrical engineering, but Rice is overall a more prestigious school
Texas fits more with my personality interests, but I know I would still have a good time at Rice and can see myself living on both campuses
When I visited UT I signed with Phi Kappa Psi fraternity
Austin much better than Houston
I know I can’t really go wrong. But is it worth spending 250k more to go to UT, specifically with regard to internships, job placement, research opportunities, etc ?
