This is the same FL Studio beat I made before, just slowed down to 120 BPM.
It’s interesting to me that it still works at a lower tempo and has a different vibe.

Update on my last beat—I didn’t change the melody or drums, just increased the BPM from 140 to 170 and tweaked the levels. It feels a lot more alive to me now. I’d really appreciate feedback on whether the faster tempo actually improves it or if I’m overdoing it.

Been practicing FL Studio consistently and I finally made something I don’t hate 😅 This is my best attempt so far. It’s a short beat (around 1 min), and I tried to focus on keeping things clean and simple. I’d love some honest feedback—what should I work on next? Mixing?drums? melody?

A lot of you told me to try recreating a song I like, so here it is. I copied the melody from The Drum note-for-note. It sounds okay, but still nothing like the original.

I’m guessing the difference is in sound selection, layering, or effects, but I’m not sure what exactly I should focus on next.

Any specific advice on how to get closer to the original sound would help.

Hi everyone,

I’m a beginner in FL Studio and I’m trying to seriously learn music production (mainly beat-making / hip-hop style tracks).

I’m looking for someone experienced with FL Studio who wouldn’t mind giving occasional guidance or pointing me in the right direction as I learn. I’m not expecting full-time mentoring—just advice on workflow, structure, and how to improve my beats over time.

Right now I’m working on:

  • Learning basic drum programming
  • Understanding mixing (levels, EQ, etc.)
  • Building full track structure instead of loops

If anyone is open to helping a beginner or just sharing advice, I’d really appreciate it.

Happy to learn and put in the work—just trying to avoid developing bad habits early.
