Update on The Pseudoaneurysm in Calf
I have an update on the pseudoaneursym that developed in my calf where my thrombectomy was done. Original post on the PE and DVT thrombectomies I had 2 months ago Blood Clots, Doctors and Uncertainty
There are three treatment types for this rare thrombectomy complication, 2 non-invasive and 1 is surgery. I had to have the surgery. Basically a vein was leaking blood into a pocket formed next to my artery instead of flowing properly. This could have ruptured and been life threatening so it had to be fixed. I went into the hospital one day and had an angiogram to determine what the best surgical path was for the Vascular surgeon to take. The next day he did surgery and the 3rd day I was sent home to heal.
I can't drive for 2 weeks which was pretty shocking because I was driving 4 days after the 2nd thrombectomy. Fortunately I have friends and family who will take me places and help with my cats. My leg is wrapped with an ace bandage that is removed at night. The leg is stiff, I am using a cane to make sure I am stable . There is pain at the incision and surgical site.
I am very hopeful and positive I will properly heal this time.
