I've been going back and forth on this for a couple of weeks and could really use some perspectives from actual students. I'm choosing between UC Berkeley and UChicago, both for Data Science / cs/ econ, and I have a few specific things I'm trying to figure out.

1. How difficult is it to switch from data science to cs? Would I need to go through a rigorous, competitive process or is it relatively straightforward?
2. How would you describe the culture at the school, especially considering UChicago's "where fun goes to die" slogan or Berkeley's competitive classes?
3. I'm also considering econ as a potential double major or minor, how do the two schools compare?
