Hi, I'm 23 years old and in Victoria. I was diagnosed with ADHD (DAMP) as a 10 year old and can't find those papers. Anyways, I stopped taking my meds at 14 and I would like to reinitiate the process of getting medicated again.
I went to my GP who sent me to a psychiatrist. This looks like it will be a costly and long process. I have been looking for information online to see if a healthcare card can take any cost away, and it has been really challenging to find any information.
The Vic government will fund money so that 150 GPs can diagnose ADHD in September, and I dont want to spend an exorbinant amount of money when this process will become easier in 5 months.
Does anyone have any information on how to make this process cheaper and quicker? I would rather get the diagnosis now to start improving my life, but if I have to wait, I have to wait.
